The Other Night at Catalyst, Which Is Just Down the Street From Quinn's, Well, Across the Street Then Down, Unless You're Going the Other Way in Which Case It's Over, Then Up

Great show last night.  Number three in a series of eight spearheaded by James Keepnews (guitar, electronics).  He was joined by two friends from Cold Spring, Gwen Laster (violin) and Damon Banks (bass).  The set, which clocked in around 45-50 minutes I'm guessing (watch watching defeats the purpose of a night like this), consistently offered two elements that I appreciate: choice and confusion.  Choice because each piece let me decide what to listen to, watch and/or think about.  Confusion because each piece also had moments in which I wasn't certain who was making what, and the parts fit together so well.
